Self-hosted GameAnalytics MCP Server
The self-hosted GameAnalytics MCP server is an open-source version of the GameAnalytics MCP server that you run yourself. It connects to the GameAnalytics Metrics API with your Metrics API key instead of an OAuth sign-in.
For most teams, the hosted server is the simpler option: you add one URL to your AI tool and sign in, with nothing to install. See GameAnalytics MCP server.
Prerequisites
To use the self-hosted server, you must have:
- A GameAnalytics account with active game data.
- Access to your GameAnalytics Metrics API key (found in PipelineIQ > Metrics API).
- An MCP-compatible AI client (e.g., Claude Desktop, Cursor).
Retrieve your Metrics API key
You need to authenticate the server to access your game data.
- Log in to the GameAnalytics dashboard.
- Navigate to PipelineIQ for the specific Organization you wish to query.
- Generate your Metrics API key. You will need this to configure the environment.
Configure the server
Detailed installation instructions and the latest source code are available in the GameAnalytics MCP GitHub repository.
Generally, you will need to add the server configuration to your AI client's config file (e.g., claude_desktop_config.json).
