Overview and Use Cases
The Ad Insights API provides programmatic access to competitive mobile market intelligence: creative data and download data across the global mobile app ecosystem. It is designed for teams that want to move beyond browsing in Ad Insights and build custom internal tools, dashboards, or machine learning (ML) pipelines on top of market data.
What's included
Two APIs, available separately or bundled:
| API | Description |
|---|---|
| Creative Data API | Creative assets (video, image, playable, ad copy, landing page) and metadata across the mobile ad ecosystem. Returns direct downloadable asset URLs (MP4 for video, HTML for playables, image files), valid for 6 months. |
| Download Data API | App download volumes, growth rates, and trends across the app stores, ranked by category, country, and time window. Includes developer metadata and cross-store unified package grouping. |
Data coverage

Use cases
Automated competitive creative monitoring: Pull top-performing creatives programmatically, filtered by title, network, and time window. Track rising creatives, download assets directly, and feed them into internal review pipelines or creative brief workflows.
Ad network and bidding optimization: Access per-network impression data for creatives across the ecosystem. Ad networks and demand-side platforms (DSPs) can feed creative performance signals into bidding models, compare how creatives perform across competing networks, and improve prediction accuracy for install-based campaigns.
Creative fatigue detection: Track impression and engagement trends for creatives over time to identify when performance starts to decay. Flag creative fatigue across your own campaigns or monitor when competitors' top-performing creatives are losing traction.
Download trend tracking and alerting: Monitor download volumes across your competitive set by category and country. Flag titles crossing ranking thresholds, detect emerging competitors, and feed trend data into internal dashboards or alerting systems.
ML and content embedding pipelines: Download creative assets at scale for ML training. Generate content embeddings to find similarities across creatives, train prediction models on creative performance signals, or build classifiers for ad formats, visual styles, and messaging patterns. The API returns direct asset URLs suitable for automated ingestion into training pipelines.
Internal dashboards and reporting: Pipe creative and download data into your data warehouse, business intelligence (BI) tools, or internal dashboards. Build custom competitive views tailored to your portfolio, genre, or market without relying on Ad Insights directly.
Cross-team data access: Expose market intelligence to teams that do not use Ad Insights directly. Product teams, data scientists, and leadership can access the same underlying data through internal tools built on top of the API.
