Funnel Step Ordering

GameAnalytics funnels are "Any Order", meaning users do not have to complete previous steps in chronological order, to be considered converted.

Let’s say we have 3 steps in our Funnel. For this purpose let’s assume it will be a Progression Funnel.

1. Step 1 is Level_1
2. Step 2 is Level_2
3. Step 3 is Level_3

The user can complete Level 2 first, if it might be unlocked, then Level 1, and finally move towards Level 3. In this case they will still count as converted.

Why is the Funnels tool not supporting Exact order?

A funnel solution supporting perfect ordering is expensive and/or slow. To bring funnel analysis to everyone it was a tradeoff to keep it fast and cost effective.

More advanced Funnels are possible to create via DataSuite features with deeper access to event-level data in a DataWarehouse.
