Overview

The Engagement Matrix is a new visualization tool within the Engagement feature that helps you understand how different product events are distributed across your user base. By combining two key metrics: frequency of event usage and reach within your Monthly Active Users (MAU) (breadth), this chart gives you a powerful lens into event-level engagement.

Rather than only tracking how often an event is used or how many users interact with it, the Engagement Matrix brings both perspectives together. This makes it easier to spot which features are widely adopted, which are overused by a small set of power users, and which may be underutilized or need rethinking. The Engagement Matrix helps your team to:

  • Identify core features by analyzing which events are performed frequently and by a large portion of your users
  • Spot niche or overused features by analyzing events with high frequency but low reach
  • Detect underused or forgotten features by analyzing low frequency, low reach events
  • Monitor feature adoption by tracking how it is behaving over time
