Publish widgets or dashboards

Overview

You can publish any widget or dashboard as a public embed, making it accessible to anyone with the link. Published embeds can be placed on external websites, social networks like Facebook, X, or LinkedIn, or internal company dashboards. Each published link has its own time period configuration, so you can share multiple views of the same data without changing the original widget or dashboard.

Prerequisites

  • A GameAnalytics account with a role that has publish permissions. See User access below for the full permissions table.
  • At least one widget or dashboard already created in your Game.

Publishing a widget

Open the publish widget menu

  1. Navigate to the widget you want to publish.
  2. Click the three-dots menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the widget.
  3. Select Publish.

If you have never published this widget before, the publish configuration form opens automatically. If you have published it before, you see a list of existing published links instead. Click Create new to add another.

Configure the widget embed

The configuration form includes the following options:

OptionDescription
Overwrite titleOverrides the widget title in the embedded view only. The original title in your dashboard is not affected.
Time periodSets the time range for the embedded data. Choose a relative period.

The available time period options are:

PeriodDescription
Last 7 daysRolling 7-day window relative to the current date
Last 30 daysRolling 30-day window relative to the current date

You can also toggle Include current day to include or exclude today's data from relative periods.

Publish widget

Click Publish to generate the embed link. Once published, a code snippet is available to copy and paste into any HTML page.

info

Embedded size is automatically set by the system and included in the embed snippet. You do not need to configure it manually.

You can create multiple published links for the same widget, each with a different time period. This is useful for side-by-side comparisons, for example sharing a "last 7 days" view alongside a "last 30 days" view.

Publishing a dashboard

Open the publish dashboard menu

  1. Navigate to the dashboard you want to publish.
  2. Click Share in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Publish.

If you have never published this dashboard before, the publish configuration form opens automatically. If you have published it before, you see a list of existing published links instead. Click Create new to add another.

Configure the dashboard embed

The configuration options are the same as for widgets. See Configure the widget embed above.

Publish dashboard

Click Publish to generate the embed link and copy the snippet code.

When you click Publish on a widget or dashboard that already has published links, a list of all links you have access to appears. Each entry shows the configured time period and the name of the user who created it.

Copy embed snippet

Click the copy icon next to any published link to copy the embed snippet to your clipboard.

  1. Click the delete icon next to the link you want to remove.
  2. Confirm the action.

The embed link is permanently removed. Anyone viewing that embed will see an "Embed is not available" message.

Click Unpublish all to remove every published link for the widget or dashboard at once. This button is only visible if your role has the required permissions.

warning

Unpublishing a link is immediate and permanent. Any website or page currently displaying the embed will show a broken state. Make sure no one relies on the link before removing it.

Editing a published widget or dashboard

If you modify a widget or dashboard that has active published links, a confirmation dialog appears:

You're about to modify a published widget/dashboard

Changes to this widget's configuration will immediately affect its behavior and visible state for anyone accessing it. This may impact dashboards, embedded views, or shared links currently in use.

Click Confirm to apply your changes, or Cancel to discard them. There is no way to version or roll back a published embed, so changes take effect immediately.

Published embed experience

The published embed is a read-only view. It does not include interactive controls like zoom or edit.

A Powered by GA logo appears at the bottom of every embed and links to gameanalytics.com.

If someone visits an embed link that has been unpublished or is otherwise invalid, they see a message:

Embed is not available

The owner has unpublished this embed or it does not exist. You can no longer view its data.
